South Sound Community Center PCR Testing Moves to Drive-Thru

The Public Health Department has announced that the daily PCR test walk-in clinics normally held at the South Sound Community Center will be replaced with a drive-thru in the parking lot of the Truman Bodden Sports Complex beginning Friday, January 21, 2022. The new drive-thru clinic will be available 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. daily.

Isolation/quarantine exit testing and confirmatory PCR from a positive lateral flow test will be performed at the new drive-thru site.

“We are aware of the heavy traffic of people requiring PCR testing at the South Sound Community Center and have been working to mitigate this issue by identifying a more suitable location,” said Dr. Samuel Williams-Rodriguez, Medical Officer of Health.

“Following the successful launch of the new drive-thru clinic in the parking lot of the Truman Bodden Sports Complex earlier this week, we have determined that this site meets the needs of this daily test clinic and allows for better crowd control, a more streamlined for patients as they will be tested from the comfort of their vehicle. We would like to thank the Ministry of Sports for their collaboration and use of this space as part of our ongoing COVID-19 response.
