Shure updates the design and sound of the SRH840 and SRH440 headphones

Are you a professional musician, content creator, or recording artist? You’ll be happy to hear that Shure has updated its SRH840 and SRH440 headphones, with improvements in design and sound quality.

Both headphones are hard-wired efforts – so none of that wireless convenience thanks – and both have been optimized for critical listening and studio monitoring. The SHR840A is said to offer a “bespoke frequency response” powered by their dynamic 40mm neodymium drivers that deliver what is claimed to be “rich bass, clear mids and extended highs.”

Shure describes the SRH440A’s performance as one that delivers detailed frequency response with “precise audio” designed for podcasting, home recording, editing, and mixing. The consistent, colorless sound response of the headphones is intended to provide an appropriate representation of what is being listened to, so that whatever is meant to be heard is.

Other improvements to both headphones include a lighter, more comfortable headband for extended use. The new ‘industrial’ design is said to be able to withstand the rigors of constant use, with a straight cable now offered as standard for both headphones to provide more mobility.
