Meshuggah releases new song “The Abysmal Eye”

MESHUGGAH released a brand new song!

The new song, titled The Abyssal Eye, is taken from the forthcoming album by Swedish progressive metal behemoths, Immutable (the long-awaited 2016 sequel The violent sleep of reason), and is slated for release in April this year, via Atomic fire records.

The next album was recorded at Sweetspot Studios in Halmstad, Sweden, mixed by Rickard Bengtsson & Staffan Karlsson and mastered by several Grammy Award winner Vlado Meller [METALLICA, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, SYSTEM OF A DOWN]. visionary artist Luminokaya created the cover again.

For guitarist Marten Hagstrom, it was impossible to resist the task of embarking on another unprecedented tech-metal odyssey. “For us, it wasn’t so clear that we were making a new album. We knew we could do it, but did we want to do it? he says. “We had to decide, do we do this or what else do we do? After a long, long discussion, we agreed on some things. We would make an album with as few constraints as possible. We were going to try to make an album as cool as possible, had no worries about it and saw it as an opportunity. How to make it a challenge that we want to accept and take up? Soon enough, we had a starting point. Everyone started writing, the ball started rolling and suddenly we were sitting there discussing how many songs we were going to have to cut!
