How to Connect Two Amazon Echo Speakers for Stereo Sound

A smart speaker like an Amazon Echo device is a great way to control smart home devices and listen to music. You’ll have to ask Alexa to play your favorite tunes and the voice assistant will oblige. One of the main reasons why music playback on an Echo speaker is better than on a smartphone is that it is louder and the speaker quality is much better.

If you’re having a party or even a small gathering, loud, clear music will help elevate the overall atmosphere. While a single Echo speaker will also help you achieve this, what if we told you that you can pair two Echo speakers for stereo sound? A stereo speaker setup is better than a single speaker when it comes to music. Here’s how you can connect two Amazon Echo speakers for stereo sound.

What is the advantage of a stereo pair

Connecting two Echo speakers in a stereo pair would mean that every time you listen to a song, sound comes out of both speakers instead of just one. So you’ll enjoy louder sound and better stereo separation. A stereo speaker setup will sound better and more immersive if you’re in a large room.

Compatible Amazon Echo Speakers for Stereo Pairs

Before we get into how you can connect two Amazon Echo speakers to form a stereo pair, it’s important to note that not all Echo devices are supported. You cannot pair two Echo speakers of different types unless they are officially supported. For example, you can’t pair an Echo Dot with an Echo Plus or an Echo Show with an Echo Studio.

You can check Amazon’s official list of supported devices for stereo pairs to see if your Echo devices are supported.

How to Connect Amazon Echo Speakers to Form a Stereo Pair

Once you’ve confirmed that your Echo speakers are compatible with each other to form a stereo pair, here’s what you’ll need to do.

Step 1: Plug both Echo speakers into a wall outlet and turn them on. Place the two speakers close together for maximum effect.

2nd step: Link both Echo speakers to the same Amazon account. If they are linked to separate accounts, reset one of the speakers and set it up with the Alexa app on your smartphone.

Once both Echo speakers are linked to the same Amazon account, you can proceed.
