Gene Simmons names the song that doesn’t sound like KISS

In a recent interview with the Raised On Radio podcast, Gene Simmons revealed the song which he said did not reflect EMBRACE‘ a classic sound.

Gene Simmons has been a defining figure on the American rock scene since the early 1970s. During his career, the eccentric bassist composed, co-wrote and participated in various musical projects, including the release of twenty studio albums with KISS and followed a solo route.

KISS played an important role in his life as he gained international recognition and commercial success with his signature sound, face paints and hard rock tunes. The long tape catalog has established a distinctive sound over the years, allowing KISS songs to be instantly recognized.

Simmons recently joined Ian Danter and opened up about his career and journey with KISS. He talked about the success of the band’s early years and how he sees music as a crucial part of his life. Gene then mentioned his solo career and plans as an artist. When asked by Danter which song was KISS’ most underrated work, the bassist revealed that in his opinion, “Psycho Circus” it doesn’t look like KISS.

”It’s an excur song, off the record, we called it ‘Circus Psycho‘ which doesn’t sound like KISS at all.

He then added the songs that make him most proud as a composer and songwriter. Although he didn’t specifically mention the names of the songs, he explained how the writing process progressed and the help he received from Bob Dylanwho agreed to work with him on the bassist’s solo project after Gene called.

Simmons recalled:

“The proudest song I ever co-wrote, there were a few actually, they were on my solo record, and I wrote those songs with Bob Dylan, who I called on the unexpectedly, and he was kind enough to come over to the house, and we sat around and walked up to them.

Gene Simmons is currently on the “End of the Road” tour with KISS, as the band bids farewell to fans. The band’s farewell tour has been postponed due to the pandemic, and Paul Stanley has revealed the tour is set to end in early 2023. Their next stop is Brisbane, Australia as they will be performing in multiple cities across the country. .
