Acclaimed Boston Music Company Gratitude Sound Appoints Jeff Turlik as New York-based Creative Director

Acclaimed music company sound of gratitude, headquartered in Boston, MA, is expanding its East Coast footprint by appointing Jeff Turlik as its new creative director. The announcement was made today by Bryan Hinkley, owner of Gratitude Sound.

Based in New York, Turlik will work as a composer and creative director within Gratitude’s roster. Additionally, he will interact with New York-based ad agencies and client brands, assist with artist relations, and work closely with Hinkley on overall company management and business development.

Gratitude regularly composes and produces original music for advertising agencies, production companies and directly to brands. The company’s customer base includes leading brands such as Cheerios, Reebok, Samsonite, Toyota and Wayfair, among others. More recently, Gratitude has created music for: Cowboy (Elegant machine); fantasies (Order); Open house insurance (Great house partners); and Iora Primary Care (Allen & Gerritsen).

Regarding Turlik joining his company, Hinkley said, “Jeff and I grew up together on the Boston music scene. We often toured together and I always had a huge respect for him musically. I also admire his kindness and general good humor.

“Jeff and I reconnected in 2021 when our two bands reunited for two sold-out nights at Paradise here in Boston. The show was to benefit an old friend and Boston rock icon, Julie Duffy. Backstage we started talking about music and Gratitude Sound – Jeff said he was interested in writing for some commercials. After working on a few jobs together, it was clear he would do well in a bigger role at Gratitude Sound. The time was right, so here we are with Jeff as creative director in New York,” adds Hinkley.

Turlik adds, “Bryan and I have known each other for a very long time, so there is a real confidence factor for me to join Gratitude Sound. Around 2001, I had moved to New York from Boston, and once there he and I kinda disconnected except on social media. So when we got together in 2021 on this benefit show for Julie Duffy, we talked about joining forces – the timing seemed perfect. I’d like to say that I bring to the Gratitude table a wealth of management experience and skills in how to help grow a business and keep it organized, while moving it creatively forward. Bryan has done a great job building Gratitude Sound for almost 10 years now – his company is pretty well balanced. I really look forward to helping to further focus the creative output and commercial expansion of Gratitude in the years to come.
